EMPLOYMENT AT GAUDEN LANGUAGE SCHOOLS
THE SCHOOL'S PLEDGE
The school will provide assistance and guidance where appropriate to ensure an enjoyable stay and a fruitful experience for the teacher.
It is the intention of the school to strive to accommodate the teacher's
reasonable requests, and come to an arrangement that is acceptable to all
parties.
SALARY
The teacher's salary will be paid on the 10th of the following month.
For example: March's salary will be paid on April 10th.
VACATION
There are approximately seven to nine national holidays per year.
All leaves of absence will require permission from the school.
ACCOMODATION
The school is obliged to help the teacher in finding their own accommodation. Any assistance provided is at the discretion of the school.
The teacher will be responsible for any utility charges (phone, electricity and gas etc).
VISA
The teacher will be responsible for acquiring the initial tourist visa to Taiwan.

On arrival in Taiwan the school will be responsible for acquiring
the working and residents permit.
The teacher will be responsible for the working and resident visa costs.
DUTIES
The school will provide the employee with 80 teaching hours per month.
The employee is responsible for additional preparation time. The school
should provide the teacher with a Teachers Manuel and forms for the lesson
plan or a teacher's handbook for all classes.
Break times: 5-10 minutes recess between classes.
HEALTH INSURANCE BENEFITS
It will be the responsibility of the teachers to acquire their own health
insurance (e.g. Blue Cross) for the initial waiting period.
When the teacher is on the school's payroll a health insurance plan,
including dental care, will be setup.
INCOME TAX INFO
The normal income tax rate is 6-10per cent.
The Taiwanese government will deduct foreign workers 20 per cent from
their monthly salary, of which is refundable at the end of 183 days.
10-14 per cent can be claimed and reimbursed at the end of the 183 days.
The school will provide assistance in filing the income tax return.
The subsequent period tax rate will be at 6-10 per cent.
